Bhawna Bai Meghwar, a brilliant student from Mithi, Tharparkar, has been awarded the Excellence Public Health Student Award at Wright State University, Ohio, USA. This top honor is given to only one student from the entire undergraduate public health program each year.
Bhawna received this award on April 30, 2025, during a special ceremony at the university. She maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her four-year degree in Public Health, showcasing outstanding dedication and academic excellence.
Her achievement not only brought pride to her family but also highlighted the potential of students from remote regions like Tharparkar. She serves as an inspiration for many aspiring Pakistani students, especially girls.
In 2014, Bhawna had also secured first position in the Pre-Medical group in the Karachi Intermediate Board exams, proving her consistent academic brilliance from the start.
She is the daughter of Professor Bheemraj Kalani, a well-known Chemistry teacher and former Principal of Sindh Muslim Government Science College, Karachi. During his tenure, he played a key role in reviving the college’s academic and structural standards.
